Future Engineers in Rego Park

Resurrection-Ascension’s Robotics Team, the RA Titans, in Rego Park have been competing with other seventh- and eighth-graders who enjoy building and engineering projects. They take part in regional competitions sponsored by Lego. The theme of this year’s competition is energy conservation. The Titans won the “Team Spirit” trophy at the December competition and advanced to the January competition in Manhattan.
Congratulations to the 300 students of St. Bartholomew’s School in Elmhurst, who reached the goal of every student acquiring a public library card. As part of a new literacy program at the school, students wrote book reports and created dioramas and mobiles, which they exhibited at a Library Expo.

Teamwork in Bayside

Classes on different grade levels at Sacred Heart School, Bayside, work together on activities throughout the school year. Seventh-graders teamed up with first-graders in learning how to use a microscope. Other classes worked on reading, writing or craft activities.
