Filipinos Thank Pastor

The Filipino Apostolate at Our Lady Help of Christians, Midwood, thanked their pastor, Father Anthony Rucando for all of his years of dedicated service to them as they also celebrated the Feast of Santo Nino (Holy Infant Jesus of Prague) recently. It was the 25th anniversary of the celebration at the parish.


A multi-media presentation of the Passion Story will be given at St. Margaret, Middle Village, on Sunday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m.


Choral selections from Handel, Bach, and Bruckner will be featured along with works of art by El Greco, Dali, DaVinci and Caravaggio, under the direction of Olga Conti.

The Catholic Migration Office is offering a Basic Pronunciation for Clear Communication “Accent Reduction” class every Monday and Wednesday, 4-6 p.m., Feb. 25 through March 19.

There are many Lenten opportunities available in the Bay Ridge Cluster. Stations of the Cross will follow the 11:45 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Angels on Feb. 22, 29, and March 7 and 14. The Cluster Soup Supper will take place on Monday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. in St. Anselm’s school hall. A Cluster Penance Service will be held on March 15 at 1 p.m. at St. Ephrem’s, Dyker Heights.
