Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio greeted each of the more than 900 people entering the Catholic Church this Easter at the RCIA’s Rite of Election. Held in two sessions to accommodate the large crowd of catechumens and candidates along with their sponsors, friends, and families, the ceremony signalled the final preparation for joining in full communion with the Church at the upcoming Easter Vigil. On the previous day, Auxiliary Bishop Frank Caggiano conducted the Children’s Rite of Election at St. James Cathedral-Basilica, Downtown Brooklyn. Sixty-one children from 17 parishes participated in that ceremony. See The Editor's Space.
