The Bay Ridge Cluster invites young adults to Theology on Tap on six Monday evenings, March 19 - April 23.
TOT gives young men and women in their 20s and 30s a chance to socialize in a local pub and hear a guest speaker. Father Gerald P. Fogarty, S.J., will deliver a lecture, “Overture to War: Pope Pius XII, the Vatican and the U.S. Government in the 1930s,” on March 25 at the Oratory Church of St. Boniface, Downtown Brooklyn, at 4 p.m.
The Pontifical Congregation of the Oratory of St. Philip Neri hosts Father Fogarty, who is professor of religious studies and history at the University of Virginia, for the 2007 Baronius Lecture in Church History.
Father Fogarty’s lecture will come at the conclusion of Vespers. Sung Lenten Vespers will be celebrated on all other Sundays in Lent at 4 p.m. with guest speakers at each.

They are helping P.S. 691 to open its first school library. You can help them by donating new or gently used books for students in grades pre-K through five and dropping them in collection boxes at the church or at the school, 45-50 195th Street.
St. Kevin’s fifth-grade Girl Scouts are collecting gently used women’s business attire to earn their Bronze Award. Donations can be placed in the back of the church.

Planning for the Future

Parishioners at St. Athanasius parish, Bensonhurst, work together to plan the future of St. A’s at the recent trilingual Parish Assembly. Nearly 300 people took part in the assembly held in English, Spanish and Italian. More than 200 “one-to-one conversations” preceded the assembly. After the discussions, children and young adults presented the Youth Visioning Project, their ideas for the future.
