Butterflies Are Free

The Pre-K class at St. Helen’s School, Howard Beach, have recently been studying the life cycle of butterflies.They used magnifying glasses to study the chrysallis more closely and created a home for the anticipated butterflies. By now, they should have released their beautiful butterflies into the neighborhood for everyone to enjoy.

St. John’s Relay for Life

More than 1,000 people participated in St. John’s University’s Relay for Life on April 13 to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The event, which took place in Carnesecca Arena, honored both cancer survivors and those who have lost their battle. Close to $50,000 was raised at the all-night walkathon.
