36 New Deacons
In a ceremony that lasted two hours and 15 minutes, Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio ordained 36 men to the permanent diaconate on Saturday, May 19, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica, Sunset Park. The men have been assigned to individual parishes in Brooklyn and Queens. Sixteen more men from the Spanish-speaking community will be ordained this weekend on Saturday, May 26, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Monastery Church, Jamaica Estates.
