McClancy Celebrates 50 Years

The Nigerian community of St. Fortunata Church, East New York, invites everyone to its Health Fair on Sunday, July 1, 3-6:30 p.m. in the church hall at 2609 Linden Blvd. The fair features free preventive health screenings, information tables, entertainment, give-aways, face painting for children and more. Sometimes people forget that food pantries have to be stocked in warm months, too. Donations of dried or canned fruit, vegetables, meat or fish, soup, rice, pasta and sauce would be greatly appreciated at the food pantry at St. Gerard Majella, Hollis.

Always Seeking Knowledge

Students in the Aquinas Program at St. Mary Mother of Jesus/St. Frances Cabrini Academy, Bensonhurst, did a project on immigration and the experience of passing through Ellis Island. They compiled the stories in books and recorded audio tapes which were donated to the pediatrics ward at Maimonides Medical Center.
