Polish Heritage Day


Bishop Zygmunt Zimowski of Radom, Poland, will be the main celebrant and homilist at the 16th annual Polish Heritage Day Mass, to be offered in St. Frances de Chantal Church, 1273 58th St., Borough Park, Sunday, Oct. 21, at 3 p.m. Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio of Brooklyn will preside at the Mass.


Before assuming the leadership of the Radom Diocese, Bishop Zimowski worked at the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith from 1983 to 2002 as an aide to Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI.


The Mass is sponsored by the Polish Apostolate of the Diocese of Brooklyn. In the congregation will be natives of Poland wearing traditional regional garb.
