Health Clinic for Retired Priests

To further advance the medical services offered to older priests, Catholic Charities has entered into a partnership with New York Hospital Queens to operate a health clinic at The Bishop Mugavero Residence on the campus of the Immaculate Conception Center, Douglaston. The hospital has developed a group of primary care and specialist physicians to provide quality health care at the new on-site clinic at Bishop Mugavero Residence. The program provides both preventive and symptomatic care to the priests.

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony were, from left, Msgr. Alfred LoPinto, diocesan Vicar for Human Services; Deacon Matthew Oellinger, director of social services at Bishop Mugavero Residence; John Sciortino, chief operating officer, New York Hospital Queens; Michael Grady, vice president, Medical Staff Relations, NYHQ; Auxiliary Bishop Ignatius Catanello; Dr. Terence M. Brady, chairman, Department of Medicine, NYHQ; and Dr. Skender Murtezani, clinic medical director of the new on-site clinic.
