Brightening Up Christmas

Representatives of 20 parishes and other faith communities gathered at St. Patrick’s, Bay Ridge, for the annual kickoff to the Celebration of Light program. Thanks to Maimonides Hospital, Borough Park, checks were distributed to support outdoor Christmas trees and lights to the following: Visitation Academy, St. Patrick, Our Lady of Angels, St. Anselm, and St. Andrew the Apostle, all Bay Ridge; St. Athanasius, Regina Pacis-St. Rosalia, St. Mary Mother of Jesus, Our Lady of Guadalupe, all Bensonhurst; St. Ephrem, Dyker Heights; Mary Queen of Heaven, Mill Basin; St. Finbar, Bath Beach; St. Cecilia, Greenpoint; St. Catharine of Alexandria, Borough Park; Immaculate Heart of Mary, Windsor Terrace; Holy Cross, Flatbush; St. Brendan’s, Midwood; Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bay Ridge; New Utrecht Reformed Church; and the chapel at Fort Hamilton Army Base.
