Born in Boston, she began her teaching career in Puerto Rico in 1938, and returned to the United States in 1953 to teach at St. John the Evangelist in Bergenfield, N.H., until 1955.

She taught at Our Lady of Monadnock Academy in Jaffrey, N.H., until 1957, and later served in leadership positions at Holy Name of Jesus in Providence, R.I., 1957-63, and at Immaculate Conception in Secaucus, N.J., until 1965.

She moved to Brooklyn in 1965 when she was named the principal of St. Saviour Elementary School, Park Slope, where she served until 1971.

She returned to the classroom for nearly 10 more years, teaching at St. Joseph H.S., Trumbull, Conn., from 1971 to 1974, and at Academy of the Holy Angels in Demarest, N.J., 1974-80.

She later taught at Holy Family School in Fairfield, Conn., from 1982 to 1994.  She continued to minister at Holy Family, volunteering there until 2001 and then living in the Holy Family Convent.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Saturday, Dec. 1 at Villa Notre Dame Chapel, Wilton.  Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bethel, Conn.

Among the survivors is a niece, Sister Francis Miriam Conway, SSND, of Malden, Mass.
