Bishop’s Christmas Luncheon

Almost 600 people attended the annual Bishop’s Christmas Luncehon held Dec. 12 at Steiner Studios in the former Brooklyn Navy Yard. More than $500,000 was raised for the benefit of Catholic schools in Brooklyn and Queens. Honorees included Robert Golden and his wife, Maureen Moore, who were presented the Pope John Paul II Award; and Darla Romfo of the Children’s Scholarship Fund. Entertainment was provided by Irish tenor Ronan Tynan; local singing artist Josephine Sanges; and the children of Blessed Sacrament School, Jackson Heights, who performed a Nativity pageant. Below, chef Michael Lomonaco, who served as luncheon chairman; Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio; and emcee Maurice DuBois of WCBS-TV, who received Brooklyn jersies in recognition of their roles in the luncheon.
