Tridentine Liturgy

Pope Benedict XVI this year allowed for greater use of the Latin-language liturgy that predates the Second Vatican Council. Above, Msgr. George Browne distributes Communion during a Tridentine Mass at St. Josaphat Church in Detroit in early July. At right, with his back to the faithful, Carmelite Father Casimir Borcz celebrates a Tridentine Mass at the Carmelite monastery in Munster, Ind., March 31. The Vatican released a papal document July 7 expanding use of the Tridentine Mass.
